Part-Dieu
The Confluence district, once a wasteland of about 170 acres, is situated a few steps away from the historic center of Lyon. The ambitious project of renovation began in the 2000s and aims at expanding the city center in line with the rivers. Exploring this new district means taking on a trip in today’s architecture and discovering a changing territory exemplifying the challenges of a more sustainable urbanism.
The development project aims at designing Part Dieu as the new heart of the metropole with the construction of new property complexes, the renovation of public spaces and the surroundings of both the train station and the commercial center. Discover the history, the work sites and the challenges of the transformation of the second biggest business district in France, dating back to the 1970s.
